Privacy Policy

One Tab Getaways ("OTG", "we", "us", "our") operates onetabgetaways.com (the "Website") to provide travel guides, itineraries, consultations, checklists, downloads and other resources and services we may offer from time to time, primarily for Indian travellers. This page explains what information we collect from you, why, and what choices you have about it.

Last updated: 2026

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

We collect information you choose to share with us, through:

  • Email sign ups. When you sign up to receive something from us, we collect your email address. This covers free guides, checklists, downloads, newsletters, updates, waitlists, offers and any other resource or service we may offer from time to time. Sign ups can happen directly on the Website, or through a link we share elsewhere, such as Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube or any other platform we use.
  • Trip enquiries. If you reach out to plan a trip with us, we collect what you share to help with that, typically your name, email address, destination, travel dates, who is travelling and a rough budget, along with any further trip related details you choose to share.
  • Payments. If you buy something from us, such as a travel itinerary or a paid consultation, your payment is handled by third party payment providers. We do not collect or store your card, bank, UPI or wallet details on the Website, and we will never ask you for a PIN, password or OTP. We receive only what we need to confirm and fulfil your order, such as the amount, a transaction reference and the name and email address linked to it.
  • Purchase records. For anything you buy, we keep a record of the order: what it was for, when it was made, the amount, and the email address we delivered it to. We need this to send you what you paid for, to answer questions about it afterwards, and to comply with our record keeping obligations under applicable law.
  • Loyalty programme details. If you tell us which airline or hotel loyalty programmes and cards you hold, only if you choose to share this during a consultation, we use it solely to advise on award bookings. We never ask for passwords, PINs, OTPs or account logins, and you should never send us these.
  • Direct contact. If you email us with a question, we collect the information contained in that email and any subsequent correspondence in that thread.

You are never required to create an account to read our guides.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours automatically records some technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you here, and the date and time of your visit. We use this in aggregate to understand how the Website is used and to fix what is not working, not to identify you personally.

2. How we use it

  • To keep the Website running properly and make it better over time
  • To send you the specific resource or communication you signed up to receive, such as a guide, checklist, download, newsletter or update, and anything similar we may offer in future
  • To reply when you write to us with a question or a consultation request, and to respond to and process the specific request you have made
  • To process your purchase and deliver what you paid for, whether that is an itinerary, a consultation or another paid resource
  • To send occasional emails about new guides or offers, only if you have signed up to receive them, and only as often as we said we would when you signed up
  • To see which guides get read and how people find the Website, so we know what to write next
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for anything beyond what is listed above without telling you first.

3. Cookies and similar tools

Cookies are small files a website can place on your device to remember information about your visit. The Website may use:

  • Functional cookies, to remember basic preferences as you browse
  • Analytics cookies, such as Google Analytics, to understand which guides are useful and how people find the Website
  • Affiliate tracking cookies, placed by the booking platforms we link to (see the section below), so they can credit us if you book something after clicking through

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may mean some parts of the Website, or the sites we link out to, work less smoothly.

4. Anonymous data

We sometimes use aggregated or de-identified data, such as overall analytics or patterns drawn from cookies, which does not identify any individual and cannot reasonably be traced back to you. This is not personal information. We may share this kind of data with analytics or advertising partners.

5. Advertising

We may display ads on the Website, or run retargeting through platforms such as Google, Facebook or Instagram, and those platforms may set their own cookies in addition to the ones described above.

6. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Tools we use to run the Website process data on our behalf, only to provide that service to us. These include our payment providers, and our email and website analytics tools.
  • Booking and affiliate platforms. If you click through to book a tour, hotel or ticket, the platform you land on (Viator, GetYourGuide, and others named in our guides) collects your information directly, under its own privacy policy, not ours.
  • Legal reasons. If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, the safety of our users, or the public.
  • A change in business. If OTG were ever acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that, and we would let you know.

7. Affiliate links and third party sites

Our guides contain affiliate links to booking and retail platforms, including Viator, GetYourGuide, Amazon, Decathlon, Uniqlo, Ajio, Myntra and Columbia, among others. If you click through and make a booking or purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed wherever these links appear.

Once you leave the Website through one of these links, that platform's own privacy policy applies to any information you share with that platform, including any payment details. For bookings made this way, we do not see or store your payment information at any point, since the booking platform processes the transaction directly, not us. Payments for our own itineraries and consultations work differently, and are covered in section 1 and in our terms and conditions.

8. How we protect it

We follow reasonable security practices to protect the information you share with us, consistent with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. That said, no method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data as defined under Indian law, such as passwords, financial account details, or health information, through the Website.

Disclaimer. Despite the precautions above, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised access, disclosure or misuse of your information, including in connection with an online payment made by card, net banking, UPI or wallet, where this happens through means beyond our reasonable control.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete it if you unsubscribe or ask us to. Information shared for a trip enquiry or consultation is kept until the end of your trip and for a reasonable time after, in case you return with a follow up question, then deleted or anonymised.

Records of anything you buy from us, including the order and payment details, are kept for as long as we are required to keep financial records under Indian tax law. This is the one exception to the above: while that period is running we cannot delete these records on request, though we can still remove you from our emails and delete everything else we hold about you.

10. Your rights

  • Right to access. You can ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to correction and erasure. You can ask us to correct inaccurate data, or delete it entirely.
  • Right to withdraw consent. You can withdraw consent for anything you previously opted into, such as our emails, at any time.
  • Right to grievance redressal. You can raise a complaint using the contact details listed below if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.

Write to us at onetabgetaways@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights.

11. Children's privacy

The Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has shared information with us, please contact us and we will remove it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for instance as the Website adds new features or as the law changes. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the Website.

14. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to this policy will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Gurugram, Haryana.
